This is the sad story of a code name becoming a product. This is not a traditional press release. Raleigh, January 31st 2008 - ?Back in late 2005, when we started the development of our Enterprise Mashup solution, nobody was speaking of mashup? admits James Peterson, GreenIvory?s COO. GreenIvory started its product line back in November 2005. At that time, although the term Mashup was being used in IT (information technology), if was more a kind of music. During the development of version 1, which wasconcluded in February 2007, the product was codenamed ?RedLion?. ?Following our project tradition, we always combined a color with an animal. Our latest project is GoldSpider? confirms Jean Georges Perrin, GreenIvory?s CEO. Unfortunately, RedLion, although it is a great name, is not self explanatory. GreenIvory wanted a clearer and more efficient name. An internal competition was run among employees and share holders. MashupXFeed (pronounced Mashup Cross Feed) was the winner. MashupXFeed, now version 1.1, has been in production for one year and is a solid and robust Enterprise Mashup solution. For more information, visit http://www.greenivory.com/MashupXFeed. |
