Jean-Georges Perrin, the founder of Greenivory and an Advanced Business Partner of IBM, is putting another feather in his hat after being named an IBM Data Champion.
Haguenau, France. May 12th, 2009. Each year, IBM presents awards to the members of its community who, through blogs, websites, conferences, books, and technology, contribute to the success of IBM product data management.
This May, Jean-Georges Perrin received an award as first place IBM Data Champion in the French category as well as first place in the French Informix community category. He also happened to be the youngest entrant from the Informix community. Jean-Georges was honored both for his work in promoting these IBM technologies within GreenIvory and also for his active role within IIUG (the International Informix Users Group) and InformixMag (http://www.informixmag.com).
The work that Jean-Georges and the other recipients have done has been done freely. As IBM explains, “Our members have no official obligations to IBM.” Jean-Georges added, “We simply share our opinions and our years of experiences with others in this domain.”
Jean-Georges Perrin was nominated for the IBM Innovation award at the IOD conference in 2007 due to his experience with GreenIvory. That nomination recognized his research and development in the innovative use of databases in areas such as online reputation, Web 2.0, and mashup.
As Jean-Georges explains, “We have developed solutions in online reputation (Voice Observer), we have created dynamic web sites using our mashup technology (MashupXFeed), and we have developed social networks (EnterpriseSocialNetwork) all thanks to our utilization and understanding of databases. Our products are very efficient.”
Due to his status as a Data Champion, JG Perrin will be in contact with the development team in order to facilitate communications between GreenIvory with the laboratories of IBM. He will also have the opportunity to utilize technical resources, such as free information management software, that could be very useful to the organizations in which he participates actively.
